COR-TEN is the name of a steel of pre-eminent importance between the types " to low content of alloy elements and to elevated mechanic resistance". The two main characteristics of CORTEN are:

• elevated corrosion resistance (COR-rosion resistance) and
• elevated mechanical resistance (TEN-sile strength).

The optimal resistance offered from the COR-TEN to the atmospheric corrosion, permit the use of the material in different typologies of fields reducing the periodic operations of maintenance.
